🌱 From Adversity to Impact: The Story of Irene and Tidy Haus Cleaning

Irene Abbock, born in Port Vila and proudly from the islands of Pamma and Nguna, grew up in a household where cleanliness was a daily discipline. Taught by her parents that a tidy home was a shared family responsibility, Irene discovered its deeper value while caring for her sick grandmother. Her grandmother, who suffered from respiratory issues and diabetes, needed a space that was not only clean but free from harsh, toxic chemicals. Irene learned early that natural alternatives like lime, lemon, warm water, and a touch of dishwashing liquid could disinfect without harming health, wisdom passed down lovingly from her grandmother.

Though Irene’s professional background was in humanitarian work with NGOs, she noticed a growing gap in Port Vila: a lack of consistent, trustworthy, and safe cleaning services. Many busy families and offices needed help maintaining hygienic spaces, but struggled to find cleaners they could rely on. As a mother herself, Irene faced the same frustration, having to repeatedly re-train new cleaners, with no guarantee they’d stay or understand proper chemical use. It was tiring, stressful, and unsafe.

That’s where Tidy Haus was born, to take the stress out of cleaning by offering reliable, professional, and eco-friendly cleaning services. More than just a service, it’s a solution: trained cleaners, consistency, and products that are safe for families, offices, and our environment. Irene’s vision is simple but powerful: to provide not just the most dependable service, but to do so using locally made, natural cleaning products that continue her grandmother’s legacy of safe, healthy cleaning.
